Due to the holiday on the occasion of Buddhist Purnima, the import and export activities through Hili Land Port in Dinajpur district is closed on Wednesday.
However, it is normal for passengers with passports to pass through the immigration check post at the port.
Harun ur Rashid Harun, President of Hili Land Port Import and Export Group, confirmed the matter around 11 am.
He said, ''Due to the public holiday on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the import and export activities between India and Bangladesh through the land port are closed today. Import and export activities between the two countries will start tomorrow, Thursday morning, May 23.''
Hili Immigration Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Ashraful said passage of passengers with passports between the two countries is normal.
