A young man was killed and another injured in a road accident in Pirojpur Sadar upazila on Monday.
The incident took place around 2 PM on Monday at Bangamata Begum Fazilatun Nesa Mujib 8th Bangladesh-China Friendship Bridge of the upazila.
The victim was identified as Md. Maruf Sheikh 25, son of Idris Sheikh from Mulagram village under the upazila.
Citing locals, Pirojpur Police Station officer-in-charge Md. Abdus Sohbhan said Maruf along another was returning to the district town from Kawkahli area. On the way, he hit a guid wall after losing control over the steering of the bike. The incident resulted Maruf to die on the spot and his accociate critically injured.
On information, Fire services personnel rushed the injured to Pirojpur General Hospital and sent the body to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
Confirming the incident, investigation officer of the police station sub-inspector Romij Jahan Jumma said a case has been filed in the connection and legal procedures are underway.
