The Kamalganj upazila administration in Moulvibazar district has reclaimed 7.80 acres of government land, valued at approximately 1 crore taka, from long-term occupants.
The operation took place on Tuesday in Konagaon Mouza of Adampur union of the upazila.
According to reports, the land had been under the control of beneficiaries of the Forest Department, who had been utilizing the area by planting trees. With the cooperation of the Forest Department, the Assistant Commissioner (Land), DM Sadiq Al Shafin, led the day-long operation to recover the land.
Following the reclamation, government signboards were installed to mark the property.
"We have successfully reclaimed about 1 crore taka worth of khas land that had been occupied by Forest Department beneficiaries for years," said Assistant Commissioner (Land) DM Sadiq Al Shafin. "With the help of Forest Department officials, we have taken measures to secure the land by erecting government signboards."
