One more die of dengue, 125 hospitalised

One more person died from dengue while 125 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever in 24 hours till Tuesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The death toll from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh now rose to 565 this year.

Of them, 28 dengue patients were admitted in hospital under Dhaka North City Corporation while 36 were hospitalised in Dhaka South City Corporation.

As of now, 946 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country.

A total of 100,491 dengue cases have been reported since January 1, 2024.

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 1,705 people, making it the deadliest year on record.
