Housewife's hanging body recovered in capital's Hazaribagh

Police recovered the hanging body of a housewife from a residence in Dhanmondi-15 Staff Quarters area under Hazaribagh Police Station in the capital on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Taharim, 20, daughter of Md Hafiz Uddin of Dirakati area under Jhalakathi Sadar upazila. She had been living with her husband, Md Sabbir Hossain, at the staff quarters.

According to family sources, following a family dispute, Taharim went into her room and took her life by tying a scarf around her neck and hanging herself from the ceiling fan.

Later, family members rushed her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the on-duty doctors declared her dead.

Confirming the incident, DMCH police camp in-charge Inspector Md Faruk said the body was kept at the hospital morgue and Hazaribagh Police Station has been informed.
