Mahmudur Rahman Manna’s nomination cancelled

The nomination paper of Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna has been cancelled for Bogura-2 (Shibganj) constituency.

District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Md Taufiqur Rahman announced the decision on Friday at around 3:30 PM after completing scrutiny of the nomination papers.

According to the Returning Officer, Manna’s nomination was cancelled due to inconsistencies and discrepancies in the information submitted in his affidavit.

In the same constituency, the nomination of Shariful Islam Jinnah, a former Jatiya Party lawmaker, was also rejected. 

Officials said Jinnah failed to submit the required wealth statement form along with his affidavit, resulting in the cancellation of his nomination.
