Five nominations rejected in Rajbari 

RAJBARI, Jan 3: During the scrutiny for the 13th parliament election in Rajbari, nomination papers of five individuals were cancelled on various grounds on Saturday.

Sources at the District Returning Officer's office stated that in Rajbari-1 constituency, the nomination of Md. Abdul Malek, a candidate from Islamic Andolan Bangladesh, was cancelled due to the absence of his signature on the affidavit.

Furthermore, the nomination of another candidate, Mohammad Qutub Uddin from Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, was cancelled for lacking party authorisation.

Additionally, in Rajbari-2 constituency, the nominations of two independent candidates, Md. Mozahidul Islam and Md. Sohail Mollah were cancelled for failing to submit the required support from one per cent of voters.

Consequently, out of a total of 16 candidates across the two constituencies, five have been disqualified. This leaves 11 candidates to contest the elections.
