One killed in Kalapara road mishap

KALAPARA, PATUAKHALI, June 7: A man was killed and eight others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a battery-powered auto-bike near the Andharmanik Bridge in Kalapara Municipal area of the district on Saturday night. The injured were sent to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) for advanced treatment.

Deceased Harun Gazi, 45, was the son of Sattar Gazi of Najibpur Village in Mohipur Union of Kalapara Upazila. 

Quoting locals and eyewitnesses, Officer-in-Charge of Kalapara Police Station Md Nazrul Islam said that after the accident, the auto-bike was twisted and all the passengers including the driver were seriously injured. Among them, Harun Gazi died on the way to SBMCH. Necessary legal action has been taken in the incident.
