BB fixes passport endorsement fee at Tk 300 for money changers

In a move to streamline foreign exchange transactions and ensure transparency, Bangladesh Bank (BB)'s Foreign Exchange Policy Department-2 has announced new guidelines for licensed money changers across the country. 
According to the circular issued on Wednesday, money changers are now permitted to charge a fixed endorsement fee of Taka 300 for each outgoing passenger's passport. 
This fee applies regardless of the amount of foreign currency exchanged. The fee must be clearly displayed in a prominent place within the business premises, and customers must receive a written receipt for the payment. Additionally, money changers are required to keep proper records of all fees collected.
