Ashraful Alam Asif and Minhaj Sourav struck half-centuries as Akutuvoy made a winning start to the CCDM T20 Challenge Cup with a comprehensive 78-run victory over Anirban at PKSP-1 ground on Monday.

Put into bat first, Akutuvoy compiled a hefty 201-5, with Ashraful smashing a scintillating 22 ball-61 not out, a knock laced with four fours and six sixes.

Minhaj Sourav who opened the innings paved the platform of big total by hammering 58 off 40, hitting five fours and three sixes. His opening partner Sagor Islam made run-a-ball-28.

Toslim Uddin was the pick of the bowler for Anirban with 2-27.

However, in pursuit of a big chase, Anirban stumbled early in the innings, losing two wickets cheaply, that left them at struggling 26-2.

They had never recovered from the collapse as they were eventually dismissed for 123 in 16 overs.

Mohammad Sumon was the top-scorer for the Anirban with 29 runs while Sheikh Kamran made 27.

Nuruzzaman Masum and Shakibul Sobuj claimed three wickets apiece for Akutuvoy.

The CCDM T20 Challenge Cup was introduced to ensure continued competitive playing opportunities for players from the eight non-participating clubs of the Dhaka First Division Cricket League 2025-26.    "BSS
