
Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasa Education Division, emphasized the importance of establishing effective and sustainable links between the industrial sector and educational institutions to develop skilled human resources in technical education.
He stated that industry-institute collaboration is no longer optional but an essential requirement to ensure timely and relevant technical education.
On Thursday (January 29), speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled 'Technical Education: Steps to Improve Industry-Institute Relations' held at the BRAC CDM Auditorium in Gazipur, he made these remarks, says a press release.
The seminar was organized by the Directorate of Technical Education under the Technical and Madrasa Education Division of the Ministry of Education, with the support of the Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET) project.
In his speech, the chief guest highlighted various government initiatives aimed at making the technical education system more practical and employment-oriented, and called for stronger partnerships with the industrial sector in this regard.
The seminar was attended by nearly 300 participants, including factory owners, entrepreneurs, representatives of the industrial sector, teachers and officials from technical education institutions, and experts.
Speakers stress industry's active role in technical education to produce skilled workforce and meet labor market needs.
The seminar was chaired by Abul Khair Md. Akkas Ali, Director General (Additional Secretary) of the Directorate of Technical Education. Special guests who spoke included Shoaib Ahmad Khan (Additional Secretary, Technical Division), Samsur Rahman Khan (Development Division), and Rehana Yasmin (Administration and Finance) from the Technical and Madrasa Education Division.
Two papers were presented at the seminar.
