Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque on Thursday said criminal activity and corruption in Bangladesh would be eliminated through a “ballot revolution” in the upcoming February 12 elections.

He made the remarks while addressing a rally at Azim Uddin High School ground in Kishoreganj town. Criticising certain political groups, Mamunul Haque said those rehabilitated after the July movement were now attempting to revive fascism in the country.

Maulana Hedayatullah Hadi, the 11-party alliance and Khelafat Majlis candidate for Kishoreganj-1, attended as a special guest. The meeting was chaired by Maulana Abdul Mumin Sherjahan, president of the Kishoreganj Sadar upazila unit.

The rally drew supporters in processions from Kishoreganj Sadar and Hossainpur upazilas.
