Energy adviser Dr. Fouzul Kabir Khan has said on Sunday that he failed to attract any mega investment or FDI in energy and power sector as no country willing to invest in interim  government's regime considering its temporary lifespan.

“I visited Saudi Arabia and met with the Crown Prince to present our plans, but when they asked about the tenure of the interim government, they politely declined,” Dr. Khan said during a media briefing at Bidyut Bhaban.

He made these remarks while opens five apps of the energy sector. Senior officials of the power and energy sector were present.

“To be honest, the plans we proposed could not be executed on a large scale due to financial constraints. I have failed to deliver as per my capacity and intentions,” he said.

Dr. Khan added that efforts to ease the energy crisis, including plans to install terminals or Floating Storage Regasification Units (FSRUs) through government-to-government negotiations, had not yielded results.

“If we had more time to continue the tenure of the interim government, we could have delivered much more,” he said.

He also mentioned that the government completed several major studies in the power and energy sector, including the Adani agreement, which will now be left for the next government to make decisions on.
