The Department of Youth Development published the results of the preliminary recruitment examination for the post of Assistant Upazila Youth Development Officer (Grade-11) under its revenue budget, with 5,386 candidates passing the test.
Director (Administration) of the Department of Youth Development DM Atiqur Rahman signed an office order announcing the results on Saturday (October 17).
According to the order, the preliminary test was conducted to fill 242 vacant posts for Grade-11, formerly designated as Credit Supervisor. The screening examination took place on Friday.
The date, time, and venues for the written examination for the successful candidates have not been announced yet. The department will publish these details later on its official website and notify candidates via SMS through Teletalk.
The office order noted that any irregularity or unfair means at any stage of the recruitment process will result in the cancellation of candidature or results.
The preliminary test was initially scheduled for October 10, attracting nearly 3,19,000 applicants for the 242 vacancies. However, authorities postponed the exam at the last minute after leaked question papers circulated on social media matched the original set. Disappointed candidates who had traveled from distant places staged demonstrations and blocked roads across the capital.
The authorities subsequently decided to hold the test on October 16 with a new set of question papers. The hour-long preliminary exam took place from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday.
Following the leak, the Ministry of Youth and Sports formed a five-member investigation committee headed by Additional Secretary Md Mahfuzul Alam Khan. While the committee was initially directed to submit its report within three working days, the deadline was later extended.
