Bhutan PM hails BNP victory, congratulates Tarique Rahman

Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan, has congratulated Tarique Rahman and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on their sweeping victory in Bangladesh’s general election.

In a congratulatory message sent on Friday, the Bhutanese premier extended his “warmest congratulations” to Tarique Rahman and BNP for winning the national polls.

Tobgay said the decisive mandate reflects the trust and confidence of the people of Bangladesh in Tarique Rahman’s leadership and marks the beginning of a new chapter of peace and progress for the country.

He also expressed optimism about future bilateral cooperation, stating that he looks forward to working closely with the new leadership to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and warm ties between Bhutan and Bangladesh.
