Bhutanese PM calls on PM Tarique Rahman

Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay paid a courtesy call on newly elected Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at National Parliament on Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, Tarique was sworn in as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh at a ceremony held at South Plaza of the Parliament.

Prime Minister’s daughter Zaima Rahman, newly appointed Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and other senior officials were present during the meeting.

Tobgay arrived in Dhaka to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new BNP-led cabinet, underscoring the longstanding friendship and close ties between Bhutan and Bangladesh.
