Aminul Islam made ICT Chief Prosecutor

The government has appointed Aminul Islam as Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT). 

The Law Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Monday, cancelling the appointment of former Chief Prosecutor Advocate Tajul Islam which had been issued on September 5, 2024.

Aminul will enjoy the same status, salary, allowances and other benefits as the attorney general, the notice added.

Aminul Islam previously served as a member of the defense team for former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and current Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in corruption cases filed against them.
