State Minister for Ishraque Hossain on Wednesday said that many "July fighters" and some of their families were deprived during the previous interim government's tenure, as they did not properly receive rehabilitation support due to their Bangladesh Nationa-list Party (BNP) political affiliation.

"We are reviewing those cases. No political identity will be considered. All who were injured or martyred and made sacrifices will be rehabilitated. Treatment will be ensured, and martyr families will receive the rehabilitation and respect they deserve," he told reporters at the Secretariat after a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. Ishraque assured that the government would provide rehabilitation and medical treatment for all affected by the July uprising, regardless of political background.

Speaking about the meeting with the Prime Minister, he said, "He inquired about the rehabilitation process, the treatment of those injured in the July uprising, support for their families' education, and various allowances."

On the allocation of funds for the July Foundation, he added, "The Prime Minister wanted to know whether those funds were properly utilised. We have taken directives from him in this regard."
