A bkash agent was seriously injured after being hacked by a group of robbers who snatched Tk 3 lakh in cash in Satkhira’s Kaliganj upazila on Sunday afternoon.

The incident took place in Krishnanagar area of the upazila.

The injured individual was identified as Mokhlesur Rahman, a resident of Paschim Mautala village in the upazila. He works as a bkash agent and businessman.

According to locals, Mokhlesur was heading towards Krishnanagar Bazar on a motorcycle around 2:00 PM when a group of armed assailants intercepted him and launched a sudden attack.

The attackers reportedly beat him indiscriminately and hacked his head, leaving him severely injured. They then threatened him with arms and forcibly snatched a bag containing Tk 3 lakh in cash before fleeing the scene.

Later, locals rescued him and first took him to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. As his condition deteriorated, he was later shifted to Satkhira Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

Confirming the incident, Kaliganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Jewel Hossain said that none of the attackers have been identified so far, and the victim’s family has not yet filed a formal complaint with the police.
