The deceased was identified as Rimon, 20, son of Babu Hossain of Halir Mor area in the upazila. He worked as a labourer at a local poultry farm.

According to locals, Rimon was walking along the railway line while listening to music through headphones and failed to hear the approaching train despite repeated whistles from the driver.

The incident occurred in Halir Mor area around noon when the Dhaka-bound Chilahati Express hit him, leaving him dead on the spot.

Being informed, railway police recovered the body from the spot.

Railway police officials said that necessary legal procedures are being carried out.
