Pirojpur admin conducts drive on dengue awareness

PIROJPUR, Mar 14: The district administration conducted an awareness-raising drive in the town on Saturday morning, with the aim to combat dengue and other mosquito-prone diseases ahead of the rainy season.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) stated that the cleaning of ditches, canals, stagnant water bodies, and drains will continue to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes in the upcoming rainy season. During the drive, a pond in the town was cleaned voluntarily to raise public awareness about mosquito-related diseases and the importance of cleanliness for a healthy environment.

DC and District Magistrate Abu Sayed led the drive. Additional DC (General) Md. Alauddin Bhauyian Jony, ADC (Revenue) and Municipality Administrator Md. Mahmudur Rahman Mamun, Executive Engineer of the Education Engineering Department Md. Zahirul Islam, along with leaders from political parties and members of the Red Crescent Society, actively participated in the event.

The drive commenced from the municipality premises in the town, paraded through the main roads, and concluded at the Government Boys' High School, where the participants cleaned the school's reserved water tank.
