Man killed being hit by pickup van in Bagerhat

A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a pickup van in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat.

The accident occurred at the Town-Nawapara intersection on the Khulna-Dhaka highway.

Deceased Badal Roy Chowdhury, 53, was a resident of Piljang village of the upazila.

Locals said that on Sunday at around 8:30AM, Badal was hit by an unidentified pickup van while crossing the highway and was seriously injured. 

He later succumbed to his injuries on the way to Khulna Medical College Hospital. 

The pickup van driver fled the scene  soon after the incident.

Mollahat Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Asaduzzaman Howlader stated that he was informed about the accident. The killer pickup van driver is being searched for.
