Half-decomposed body recovered in B’baria pond

Police recovered a half-decomposed body of a man from a pond in Nabingan upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Delwar, 55, son of Chan Mia, a resident of Dakkhin Para area under Rasullabad union in the upazila.

According to locals, they noticed a body floating in a pond in the area and informed the police.

Being informed, a team from Nabinagar Police Station rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

Police said the body was in a half-decomposed state, indicating that the man might have died several days earlier.

Confirming the incident, Nabinagar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said that the body has been sent to Brahmanbaria General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The exact cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report and further legal steps will be taken, added the OC.
