Iran’s state media reported on Friday that Ali Mohammad Naeini, spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has been killed in what officials described as a “criminal and cowardly terrorist attack” allegedly carried out by the United States and Israel.

According to IRGC-affiliated Sepah News, Naeini was killed in the early hours of Friday. Iranian state television and multiple state-run outlets have since confirmed his death. However, neither the United States nor Israel has issued any immediate statement regarding the incident.

Reports from Al Jazeera indicate that Iranian state TV announced the death but did not clarify the exact timing of the attack or whether Naeini was killed during a wave of overnight strikes.

The attacks reportedly targeted several locations across Iran, including eastern Tehran, Karaj, Kerman, Bandar Lengeh and Kashan"Naeini’s hometown.

Naeini, 68, held the rank of brigadier general and had been serving as IRGC spokesperson since 2024. Notably, just hours before reports of his death emerged, he appeared on national television, asserting that Iran maintained missile production capabilities despite wartime conditions.

The timing of his death remains unclear, raising questions about whether he was killed before or after delivering his televised remarks.

Further details about the circumstances of the attack and confirmation from international parties are still pending.
