BNP to hold programmes on Independence Day

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has unveiled a comprehensive  programmes to observe the great Independence and National Day with due political significance and organisational coordination across the country.

A party press release signed by party Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday outlining a series of ceremonial, commemorative and political engagements to honour the historic occasion.

According to the statement, the party has directed that on Thursday, March 26, the national flag will be hoisted at 6 am, alongside the party flag at all BNP offices across the country, including the central office at Nayapaltan in Dhaka. The initiative is intended to symbolically reaffirm the party's commitment to the ideals of independence and national sovereignty.

The programme further stipulates that at 5 am on the same day, the President and the Prime Minister will pay homage at the National Memorial in Savar, following which BNP leaders and activists will also pay their respects at the memorial as part of the formal observance of the day.

After completing tributes at the National Memorial, party leaders and activists are scheduled to return to Dhaka to place wreaths and offer Fateha at the mausoleum of the proclaimer of independence and former President Ziaur Rahman, followed by homage at the grave of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
