Man electrocuted in Kurigram

A man died after being electrocuted in Kurigram sadar upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Soljar Hossain, 50, son of late Shamsher Ali of Char Madhabram village under Bhogdanga union. He was a tea stall owner by profession.

According to locals, Soljar left his home early in the morning around 6:00 AM to open his tea stall at the east side of the Dharla Bridge. At one point, he went behind the shop and came into contact with a live electric wire, leading to his death on the spot.

It is initially believed that the incident occurred sometime between 6:10 AM and 9:00 AM.

Kurigram Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Jahangir Alam confirmed the incident.
