Man held with Yaba pills in Kurigram

Police arrested an alleged drug peddler along with Yaba pills in Kurigram’s Rajarhat upazila on Thursday night.

The arrested was identified as Rasel Mia, 35, son of Alhaj Abdul Jalil Mia, a resident of Kailash Kuti village under Rajarhat Sadar union.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Rajarhat Police Station carried out a raid in Mondolpara village under Chakirposhar union.

During a search, police recovered 81 pieces of Yaba pills and 22 pieces of Tapenta tablets from his possession.

Rajarhat Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mamunur Rashid confirmed the detention and said that a case has been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act.

The arrested has been sent to jail after being produced before the court, added the OC.
