BSEC chief vows to build vibrant, sustainable capital market with stakeholders

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Khandaker Rashed Maqsood has pledged to work closely with stakeholders to develop a more vibrant, transparent and sustainable capital market in Bangladesh.
He made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at a post-Eid-ul-Fitr reunion programme held in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Sunday.
Other members of the commission, including Commissioners Md. Mohsin Chowdhury, Ali Akbar, Farzana Lalarukh and Saifuddin, were also present. The event brought together a broad spectrum of capital market stakeholders, reflecting a renewed push for collaboration across institutions. Representatives from key market bodies-including Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE), Chittagong Stock Exchange PLC (CSE), Central Depository Bangladesh Limited, Central Counterparty Bangladesh Limited and Financial Reporting Council Bangladesh (FRC)-attended the gathering.
Also present were representatives from Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association, Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies and Association of Bankers Bangladesh.
Professional bodies such as Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh, Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh and Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh were represented, alongside international and market organisations including Asian Development Bank, CFA Society and the Capital Market Journalists Forum. Leading brokerages, merchant banks, listed companies and business groups also took part.
