President Mohammad Shahabuddin spent a nostalgic and engaging evening with journalists and longtime associates at the Pabna Press Club during his four-day visit to Pabna.
A life member of the club, the President stayed for nearly two and a half hours, warmly interacting with colleagues and greeting many by name. Accompanied by four close friends from his school days-also fellow freedom fighters-he reflected on his early life, journalistic career, and political journey.
During the gathering, President Shahabuddin fondly recalled the legacy of the Press Club and paid tribute to its departed members. The discussion also highlighted key issues in journalism, as well as the club's future development and prospects.
The event, titled "Come, Come, Pull the String of Life," was held at the club auditorium from 7PM to 930PM on Sunday. It was chaired by club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar and moderated by General Secretary Zahurul Islam.
Adding a personal touch to the evening, the President and his companions shared vivid memories from the Bangladesh Liberation War. Their stories-from youthful escapades during wartime to walking through dark nights with weapons-captivated the audience and brought history to life.
Prominent attendees included freedom fighters and former club leaders such as Anjan Chowdhury Pintu, Zahurul Islam Bishu, Baby Islam, and Md. Muktar Hossain, alongside current and former office bearers, journalists, and members of the press community.
