Man dies after slipping from tree in Chandpur

A man died after falling from a tree while cutting its branches in Chandpur Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Rafiq Patwari, 55, son of late Farid Uddin Patwari, a resident of Chhota Sundar village in the upazila. He was a day labourer by profession.

According to locals, the incident occurred around 11:00 AM at the residence of Selim Bepari, in Rampur union area, while Rafiq was cutting a tree.

At that time, he lost his balance and fell on the ground, sustaining severe injuries.

Later, locals rescued him and took him to a nearby hospital, but he died on the way to the hospital.

Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Faiz Ahmed confirmed the death.
