Bangladesh has conveyed a message of solidarity with the United Arab Emirates amid ongoing regional tensions.

In a letter addressed to UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman expressed "firm solidarity" with the UAE leadership, government, and people in light of the current conflict, according to a Foreign Ministry release.

The letter was handed over by the Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir to UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday evening.

The prime minister highlighted his appreciation for the UAE government's continued support in hosting a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates and for ensuring their safety and well-being.

He also expressed deep concern over the attacks, the loss of lives, injuries, and property damage, and reiterated Bangladesh's readiness to provide support if needed.

During the meeting, the UAE foreign minister conveyed condolences over the deaths of two Bangladeshi expatriates in recent attacks and reaffirmed his government's commitment to the safety of all residents, regardless of nationality. He also expressed gratitude for Bangladesh's solidarity.

Kabir commended the UAE leadership's restraint and emphasized the importance of resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.
