A meeting on passenger fare adjustment was held on Sunday between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm involving leaders of the Bangladesh Road Transport Owners' Association and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).

During the meeting, both sides discussed adjusting public transport fares in light of the recent fuel price hike. However, no consensus was reached after several hours of discussion.

The meeting was attended by the Executive President of the Bangladesh Road Transport Owners' Association, Kafil Uddin Ahmed, its Secretary General Md Saiful Alam, and other senior leaders. Representing BRTA, Chairman (in-charge) Mir Ahmed Tarikul Omar was present along with relevant officials.

Sources said differences remained over the proposed fare increase and its implementation, leading the transport owners' association leaders to leave the meeting without any agreement. Officials said discussions are expected to continue, with another round of talks scheduled between the transport owners' association and the BRTA chairman on Monday.
