Minister for Road Transport and Bridges affairs Sheikh Robiul Alam on Wednesday said a decision is likely on revising bus fares on Thursday, following the recent hike in fuel prices.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting at the Secretariat on Wednesday regarding transport fare adjustments, the minister stated, "We have held internal discussions, but no final decision has been made yet. Hopefully, the matter of fare increase will be decided on Thursday."

Global fuel markets have remained volatile due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East, impacting prices in Bangladesh as well. After about a month and a half of fuel-related strain, the government has finally increased the prices of all types of fuel.
