BNP leader Rashed Khan has alleged that Hatiya lawmaker Hannan Masud provided false information in his election affidavit and questioned whether his parliamentary membership would be cancelled on that ground.
Rashed made the allegation in a post on his verified Facebook page on Monday, referring to recent remarks made by Hannan Masud during a television talk show.
According to Rashed, the MP admitted on the programme that certain information in his election affidavit was inaccurate and that it had been prepared on the advice of his lawyer.
“Hannan Masud admitted that he provided false information in the affidavit on the advice of his lawyer,” Rashed wrote, claiming that the lawmaker was advised to prepare the affidavit in that manner for convenience in future business and income tax related matters.
