'Jabbarer Boli Khela' kicks off in Ctg tomorrow

CHATTOGRAM, Apr 23: The 117th edition of Chittagong's traditional wrestling competition, popularly known as "Jabbarer Boli Khela", will commence at its permanent venue, Laldighi Maidan, on Saturday. 

On this occasion, a three-day Baishakhi fair will be held. The organizers have sought everyone's help to make the Boli Khela and Baishakhi fair a success.

This information was given by CCC Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain at a press conference at Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Public Library auditorium on Wednesday.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Md. Shawkat Ali will inaugurate the Boli Khela at Laldighi Maidan at 3pm.

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain will be the chief guest at the event and will hand over crest and prize money to the winners.

Chattogram-9 constituency MP Abu Sufian will be present as a special guest at the event.
Mayor said that the late Abdul Jabbar Saudagar started this Boli Khela to prepare the youth physically for the anti-British movement in 1909. In that continuity, it has become one of the main folk festivals of Chattogram for ages.
