Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Tuesday described the recent national election as the finest in the country’s history, crediting strong coordination between civil and military authorities for its success.

Speaking at the Deputy Commissioners’ Conference 2026 held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital, he said such effective collaboration proves that even the most challenging tasks can be accomplished when all forces work together.

Before his address, the chiefs of the navy and air force, along with the Prime Minister’s defence adviser, also spoke at the event.

The army chief thanked and congratulated district administrators, saying they had delivered an excellent election to the nation.

“We stood by you, but the responsibility for organizing the election rested entirely on your shoulders,” he said.

He noted that there had once been uncertainty about whether the election would take place at all, with many expressing doubts.

“We proved them wrong and brought the country back to a democratic process. This is no small achievement,” he added.

Addressing the deputy commissioners, he assured that the army would remain ready to provide support whenever needed.

He said that upon request, relevant army formations would respond promptly and assist in any situation, including disasters, accidents or other emergencies.
