Bangladesh Railway will operate special "Cattle Trains" ahead of Eid-ul-Azha to facilitate safe and affordable transportation of sacrificial animals to Dhaka. The decision was taken at a meeting on April 30, officials said.

The service aims to ease pressure on highways, ensure smooth movement of livestock, and reduce transportation costs for traders during the busy Eid season.

According to the schedule, Cattle Special Train-1 will depart from Dewanganj Bazar Railway Station in Jamalpur at 6:00 PM on May 22 and reach Dhaka at 5:50 AM on May 23. Cattle Special Train-2 will leave Islampur Bazar at 3:30 PM on the same day and arrive in Dhaka at 1:40 AM. A second trip of Cattle Special Train-1 is also scheduled for May 23, departing Dewanganj at 6:00 PM and arriving in Dhaka early morning on May 24.
