Prime Minister's Education Adviser Mahdi Amin has said ''The curriculum will become digital.''
''Not only the teachers' dignity will increase, but they will also become more economically empowered,'' he said on Tuesday while addressing a national workshop at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of University of Dhaka.
''We are emphasising on improving the quality of public school teachers, especially primary school teachers. Their facilities and benefits will be enhanced and through this, their lives will be transformed.''
The adviser added, ''Primary school teachers in Bangladesh may not currently enjoy strong social status. However, under the Prime Minister's 'One Teacher, One Tab' scheme, teachers will receive further training through tablet computers. They will be able to provide training at an international standard.''
Mahdi Amin also said, ''In many families, a child may remain unemployed despite having skills because the factory where they worked has shut down. Over the next several years, when every sugar mill, every jute mill and all related jute-product industries are gradually reopened, employment opportunities for hundreds of thousands of people will be ensured there.''
