Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has expressed hope that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will soon complete the necessary legal procedures and arrange the return of former Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed.

He said this on Saturday while speaking at an award ceremony at the ministry in the capital.

He said that all required documents, including details of the cases filed against Benazir Ahmed, have already been sent to the UAE authorities.

The minister said the government would contact the UAE authorities on Sunday for an update on the matter.
