Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said that special security measures have been taken across the country for seven days before and seven days after Eid-ul-Azha.

He said coordinated initiatives have been undertaken to ensure safe Eid travel, proper management of cattle markets, fair prices for rawhide, prevention of extortion, and timely payment of workers' wages and bonuses.

The minister made the remarks to journalists on Tuesday after a meeting on law and order, security at sacrificial animal markets, and overall Eid preparations, held under his chairmanship. The meeting was attended by Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaikobad), Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Manzur Morshed Chowdhury, secretaries from relevant ministries, and heads of various law enforcement agencies.
