Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially announced the schedule for its 2026 board election, with voting set to take place on June 7.
The election will determine the new board of directors following the tenure of the current ad-hoc committee led by former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal.
According to the announced schedule, elections will be held for 23 director positions across three categories.
Ten directors will be elected from Category-1, representing regional and district cricket associations, while 12 directors will come from Category-2, which represents Dhaka-based clubs. One director will be elected from Category-3.
The draft voter list will be published on May 17.
Nomination papers will be distributed on May 20 and 21, while submission of nomination forms will take place on May 21 and 22.
The list of candidates will be published on May 23.
Appeals and hearings are scheduled for May 24 and 25, with the final list of candidates to be announced on May 25.
Voting for BCB election will be held on June 7 and the final results will be declared the same day.
The previous BCB board, led by Aminul Islam Bulbul after last October’s election, was dissolved by National Sports Council (NSC) on April 7.
NSC then formed an 11-member ad-hoc committee for a 90-day term and appointed Tamim Iqbal as its president.
Tamim has already confirmed that he will contest in the upcoming BCB election, while several other members of the current ad-hoc committee are also expected to participate.
