Bangladesh continued their impressive run at the 2026 Junior Asia Cup Hockey, currently underway in Inner Mongolia, China. Bangladesh defeated Kazakhstan 4-0 in a ‘Challenger Pool’ match of the tournament.

With this victory, the Bangladesh women secured the group championship with one match still in hand. They also confirmed their place among the top six teams out of the 10 participating nations.

Bangladesh dominated from the very beginning and took a 2-0 lead in the first half. Sharika Rimon opened the scoring for Bangladesh from a penalty corner in the third minute. Liza Akter doubled the lead with a field goal in the 14th minute. In the 46th minute, Zakia Afroze Lima scored another field goal to make it 3-0. Captain Sharika Rimon then scored her second goal of the match from a penalty corner in the 51st minute to complete the 4-0 victory.

With a strong defense and an impressive attacking display, Bangladesh gave Kazakhstan virtually no opportunity throughout the match. After victories over Chinese Taipei and Pakistan, the win over Kazakhstan marked Bangladesh’s third consecutive victory in the tournament.

Bangladesh women will face Hong Kong China in their final group-stage match tomorrow at 7:00 AM Bangladesh time.
