Moon-sighting meeting set for Monday to fix Eid date

The National Moon Sighting Committee will meet on Monday (May 18) at 6:45PM to determine the date of Eid-ul-Azha for 1447 Hijri.

The meeting will be held at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

State Minister for Religious Affairs Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad will chair the meeting.

Authorities have requested the public to report any sighting of the Shawwal moon from anywhere in the country.
