Brazilian forward Doriellton Gomes produced a brilliant hat-trick as Bashundhara Kings retained the Federation Cup title with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club in the final held at the Bashundhara Kings Arena on Wednesday.

Mohammedan took the lead twice in the first half and went into the break with a 2-1 advantage, but Doriellton's second-half brilliance helped Kings complete a dramatic comeback and secure the trophy.

The Brazilian striker scored twice after the interval and finished the entire Federation Cup campaign with an impressive tally of 12 goals.

Mohammedan made an early breakthrough when Uzbek midfielder Muzaffar Muzaffarov opened the scoring in the 5th minute. However, the lead lasted only a few minutes as Doriellton equalized from the penalty spot in the 9th minute.

Forward Sourav Dewan restored Mohammedan's lead in the 34th minute, giving the traditional black-and-white outfit a narrow advantage at halftime.

After the restart, Bashundhara Kings fought back strongly. Doriellton leveled the score once again in the 50th minute before completing his hat-trick with the winning goal in the 80th minute.

Mohammedan attempted to respond in the closing stages but failed to find another equalizer.

With the victory, Bashundhara Kings once again demonstrated their dominance in domestic football by securing a domestic treble for the second time since joining the country's top-flight league.

Earlier this season, Kings won the Challenge Cup title and also reclaimed the Bangladesh Premier League championship, continuing their remarkable run of success in Bangladesh football. BSS
