This figure significantly exceeds internationally recommended guidelines, which generally suggest limiting recreational screen exposure to approximately two hours per day. The findings suggest that a large majority of children are regularly surpassing healthy usage levels, raising serious concerns about long-term developmental impacts and lifestyle imbalance.
Scientific research has shown that prolonged exposure to blue light emitted from screens interferes with the body's natural sleep cycle. Excessive nighttime screen use suppresses melatonin production, making it difficult for children to fall asleep naturally.
