Shama for UN peacekeeping ops reforms

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed has called for stronger and forward-looking reforms in UN peacekeeping operations, and stronger measures to ensure the safety and security of peacekeepers.

She underscored the need for clear and realistic mandates, adequate resources, enhanced consultation with troop- and police-contributing countries and stronger measures to ensure the safety and security of peacekeepers at the Second Ministerial Conference on Peacekeeping held in Rabat, Morocco on Wednesday, according to a foreign ministry release.
