Prime Minister (PM) Tarique Rahman on Tuesday conveyed Eid-ul-Azha greetings to the people of Bangladesh and the global Muslim community, highlighting the festival’s enduring message of sacrifice, faith and spiritual purification.

In a message shared on his verified Facebook page, the prime minister said the arrival of the holy festival once again reminds Muslims around the world of the values of devotion, taqwa and self-sacrifice.

He noted that Muslims in Bangladesh and across the globe are preparing to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha inspired by the spirit and significance of sacrifice central to the occasion.

According to the prime minister, Eid-ul-Azha is not only a religious celebration but also a profound reminder of unwavering faith in Almighty Allah, selflessness and dedication.

Referring to the historical and religious significance of the festival, Tarique Rahman said the supreme sacrifice and unconditional obedience demonstrated by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) in submission to Allah’s command have made the occasion deeply meaningful for the Muslim Ummah.

On the occasion of the festival, he extended Eid Mubarak greetings to citizens of Bangladesh as well as Muslims worldwide.

The prime minister also offered prayers for peace, stability and security in Bangladesh and across the Muslim world, while expressing hope for greater harmony and global peace.

“May this holy Eid-ul-Azha be illuminated by the spirit of sacrifice. May Allah accept our sacrifices and prayers, and bless our lives with peace and prosperity through His mercy,” he said in his concluding remarks.
