Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed in five districts to maintain internal security and address possible security risks, following instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The districts are Cox’s Bazar, Madaripur, Sherpur, Gazipur and Moulvibazar.

BGB members will perform duties in coordination with local administrations and law enforcement agencies from Monday evening until June 30, according to BGB headquarters.

The paramilitary force will also keep additional personnel on standby for immediate deployment in other districts if required.

BGB Public Relations Officer Md Shariful Islam confirmed the matter, saying the force remains prepared to maintain law and order, ensure public safety and respond to any situation involving national interests.
