Home Minister intervenes to save viral buffalo ‘Donald Trump’ from sacrifice

The viral albino buffalo named "Donald Trump" will not be sacrificed this Eid-ul-Adha following the personal intervention of Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.

The rare animal has been returned to its original farm in Narayanganj.

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed confirmed the decision to Jamuna Television on Wednesday, May 27.

He explained that the move was made to prevent potential chaos and public disorder caused by the massive crowds the buffalo attracted.

The buyer from Keraniganj has been refunded, and the buffalo has been sent back to Rabeya Agro Farm in Paikpara, Narayanganj, where it will continue to be raised.

The 700-kg albino buffalo became a social media sensation due to its unique white coat and a tuft of hair that many locals claimed resembled the hairstyle of the former US President.

The fascination grew so large that it drew thousands of visitors to the farm and garnered international media coverage from outlets such as AFP and Reuters.

Fearing that the sacrifice of such a high-profile animal could lead to security issues or unmanageable gatherings, the authorities decided to preserve the animal for the time being.
