Five more children have died with measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, raising the total death toll to 565.
The information was revealed in a report published by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday afternoon.
According to the report, no confirmed measles-related deaths were recorded between 8 AM Wednesday and 8 AM Thursday, but five children died with symptoms similar to measles during the period.
DGHS data showed that since March 15, a total of 88 people have died from confirmed measles infections, while 477 others died with suspected measles symptoms.
During the same period, 8,885 people were infected with confirmed measles and 67,905 were reported as suspected cases.
The report also said 54,182 patients were admitted to hospitals with suspected measles symptoms, while 50,926 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
